The story behind

The OCD Collective

Hi, fellow spiraler!

I’m Lexi, the person behind The OCD Collective. I work with OCD in my office, and I live with it daily. My journey with OCD began long before I had the words for it, 23 years before, in fact! At age five, I started having big scary feelings, asked to see a therapist (because, you know, that’s what the average five-year-old does), and so began my therapy journey.

At age 28, I was in a relationship with my now husband and began having these intrusive, unmanageable thoughts, feelings and urges. It was the most debilitating thing I have ever experienced, and I realized it was a pattern. A spiral, an OCD spiral (seeing a theme here?). I was beginning my work as a therapist at the time and realized that I had symptoms that matched R-OCD (Relationship Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). I then spent countless hours researching OCD, how to treat it and finally received proper help.

I then realized two things:

1) Treating OCD treated everything.

2) I needed to create an online resource and space for people like me so they don’t have to feel so alone.

And so…. The OCD Collective was born! A collection of free and paid resources for people who are spiraling, but no longer need to do it alone.

If you’re mid spiral, about to spiral, or post spiral and just looking for continued skills to practice, join me as we learn to accept the spiral. You’re not alone, together, we are all The OCD Collective.

Please note:

These resources are education, not therapy, diagnosis, or a replacement for individual care. I can't answer clinical questions about anyone's specific situation through this site or DMs. If you need one-on-one therapy, the IOCDF and NOCD can help you find an OCD therapist in your area.

A space to learn

The OCD Collective is growing. The free ROCD Starter Workbook is coming first; more education and community resources will follow.
